What we do

We are a group of expert clinical genetics specialists who provide genetic testing, counselling and advice to people with genetic concerns from pre-pregnancy, throughout childhood and into adult life. Our telehealth clinics are available to people across Australia. All appointments in our clinic will be conducted by a clinical genetics doctor and you may also be seen by an experienced genetic counsellor. If a face-to-face appointment is required, that can be arranged via our clinic at the Children’s Private Medical Group.

  • Cancer may be linked to an  underlying genetic cause in some people.  This may be inherited or arise for the first time in a person.  Genetic testing can give you clarity on your cancer journey, or help to clarify your health care needs in the context of a family history of cancer.

    More Information

  • Genetic conditions can impact many systems in the body, including the heart, kidneys, lung, liver, gut, brain and spinal cord, skin, eyes and ears.  Your doctor may refer you or your child to explore the option of genetic testing to understand your own or your child’s medical or developmental concerns.

    More Information

  • If you are planning a family, you may wish to find out if you could have an increased chance of having a child with a genetic condition.  Or, you may be seeking advice about a result from a pregnancy related test (ultrasound or genetic test).

    More Information

  • You may have a relative with a confirmed or suspected genetic condition.  We can provide assessment and advice regarding the chance of you (or your child) having inherited the condition and offer testing and management advice as appropriate.

    More Information

  • Genetic tests are increasingly being initiated by oncologists, paediatricians and other specialists.  We can offer advice regarding abnormal, complex, or uncertain results.
